Religious Services

Religious Services in our Parish are conducted for the Christian community with Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland Services regularly in the area.
 

Moneygall Village

stjosephsrcchurchmoneygall.jpgSt Joseph’s RC Church was built in 1813 and currently is used for regular worship, the building approaching two hundred years old was refurbished in 1974 and stands in pristine condition today.

Dunkerrin Village


stmarysrcchurchdunkerrin.jpgSt Mary's Church is the Parish Church for the Catholic Community of Barna, Dunkerrin and Moneygall. This Church built in 1978 was built on the site of the original parish church which was built in 1831.

Mass Time: Saturday Vigil Mass at 8:00pm (Summer Time)

                     Saturday Vigil Mass at 7:30pm (Winter Time) 

 

Dunkerrin Protestant Church

The Church of Ireland church in Dunkerrin was built in 1817
Sunday worship is normally at 9.00am or 7.30pm and takes the following monthly pattern:

1st Sun 9.00am Eucharist
2nd Sun 7.30pm Evening Prayer
3rd Sun 9.00am Eucharist
4th Sun 7.30pm Service of the Word
5th Sun 11.00am Group Eucharist as announced

 

Barna


barnachurch.jpgSt Cuimins Church in Barna is a beautiful church refurbished in the late 1970’s. This protected structure is an intimate place of worship for all parishioners.

Borrisnafarney Church

Borrisnafarney Church located just outside Moneygall and used for regular worship by the Church of Ireland faith .The church was built under the patronage of T.R. Pepper who’s family built the three storey mansion Laughton House in 1777.

Service Times: 1st Sunday of Month – 9:00am
All other Sundays – 10:15am


 

Templeharry Church


templeharrychurchinterior.jpgTempleharry Church strongly associated with the discovery of President Obama’s Roots to Moneygall is only used for occasional service. Services are held during the summer months (May – October) and also at Christmas for Carol Services. For service times visit www.modreeny.com

 

 

 

Our Primary Schools

Scoil Naomh Iosef (St Joseph’s NS) Moneygall


moneygallprimaryschools.jpgThe National School in Moneygall caters for children in the area from the ages of four. The three teacher school was officially opened in 1935 and extended over the years .

Scoil Muire, (St Mary's NS) Dunkerrin

The three teacher school was built in 1943 and replaced the old primary schools in the parish areas of Cloneganna, Barna and Lisduff. The school currently with modern facilities caters for children in the Dunkerrin side of our parish.
